The European FAST market faces unique challenges as compared to streamers and publishers in the United States: regulatory hurdles in launching channels, less premium content to retain viewers, and an abundance of free TV already available to European viewers, making cord cutting less prevalent across the region.
Still, FAST – free ad-supported streaming TV – represents an emerging market with promising opportunities for growth outside of the U.S. alone. Top-tier broadcasters are making their mark in Europe’s CTV market, while FAST advertising revenues are starting to climb in the region, with the UK projected to hit $506 million by 2027.
In this session, Wurl's General Manager of EMEA, Keith Bedford, will discuss the strength of the FAST propositon in Europe, including the role that new approaches to enhancing the user experience and content discovery will play in growing the market.
