SVOD growth and profitability is challenged by a sub-segment of consumers who frequently cancel and resubscribe, and bundling is considered an important counter-measure. What kind of households cancel-and-resubscribe and what are their motives? Do ad-tiers make bundling more likely (to maintain constant reach for advertisers)? This presentation explores bundling strategies, including multiple SVODs organising their own bundles without the need for a super-aggregator. Which SVODs get bundled together and why? What are typical bundling discounts? We look for evidence that bundling can reduce SVOD churn long-term.
