We take a look at the emerging opportunities in automotive for channel owners and a growing tech/service ecosystem when serving premium audiovisual entertainment to consumers in vehicles. This discussion includes in-car content consumption habits today and how these might evolve as radio, digital audio, video streaming and games can be presented in new ways, through exciting whole-entertainment displays for passengers and even stationery drivers. How do we ensure an automotive entertainment platform that encourages innovation and makes it easy for content owners and app providers to onboard their services, minimising complexity in the AV distribution market? Is there an opportunity for TV channel owners to expand their offer in ‘audible’ focused entertainment. This panel considers whether we can entertain and inform consumers for longer each day – and considers the impact that autonomous driving could have on media consumption. You will also hear views on the kind of networks that can be used to deliver this next chapter in AV entertainment.
