Ian Nock is a seasoned consultant, entrepreneur, and industry thought leader specializing in technology strategy, product development, and delivery within the Media & Entertainment sector. As the Managing Consultant at Fairmile West, the consultancy he founded, Ian provides deep and comprehensive expertise across all levels of technology and product strategy. His work has been pivotal in launching over 20 major video entertainment services across Europe since the late 1990s, spanning satellite, cable, IPTV, and OTT platforms. Ian’s specific experience and knowledge encompasses video distribution technologies and sustainability within the media space.
In addition to his consultancy work, Ian plays a leading role in advancing next-generation video and audio technologies. He has served as the Chair of the Ultra HD Forum Interoperability Group since 2017, where he oversees initiatives to advocate for Ultra HD technology adoption. This includes supporting the creation of industry Guidelines and driving interoperability efforts within the global media technology ecosystem. He also holds the position of Vice Chair of the IET Media Technical Network, an industry-facing committee of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
