As the Dean at University Academy 92, Katharina Koall’s career involves over 20 years of extensive academic experience dedicated to a focus on equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging and closing attainment gaps. To achieve progress on this, Kat has led the pragmatic implementation of cutting-edge educational approaches to inclusive curriculum design, student welfare, and governance in her current deanship, previous roles as dean, and the various positions she held at institutions such as University of the Arts London and MetFilm School, Goldsmiths, University for the Creative Arts, and Ravensbourne University.

Kat is also an active practitioner in the fields of documentary film, illustration and animation. Alongside her academic work, she has led a UK-based design collective that collaborated with both commercial clients and community-based cultural organisations, promoting diversity and inclusion through creative practice. She is currently co-leading a project around ‘unlearning’ in academia that aims to question the status quo and seeks to create an educational paradigm that truly reflects and serves the diverse voices of our society. Kat is also working on her next documentary film focused on the experiences of womanhood in the UK and beyond.
