Ali Jones is Chief Customer and Omnichannel Officer at Matalan, where she is responsible for connecting all customer touchpoints and delivering a seamless customer journey across Matalan’s 227 UK stores and via its digital channels.

With over 20 years’ experience, Ali has spent much of her career in customer-centric strategic roles within the retail industry. Ali has delivered fast-paced transformation programs, launched new businesses and customer propositions, and developed extensive brand marketing and customer insight skills.

Ali joined Matalan from the Co-Op, where she was Customer and Community Director for five years. In this role, Ali oversaw the relaunch of the Co-op brand, launched its food ecommerce business and evolved the grocer’s membership offer. Prior to this, Ali spent a year with media agency Carat UK as Chief Client Officer and three years at Australian retailer Big W as Marketing & Online Director. Ali’s other retail experience includes Next, where she began her career, M&S, Debenhams, Arcadia Group and Woolworths Australia, where she held several senior brand, omnichannel and marketing roles.

Ali currently sits on the Board of Trustees at the Retail Trust and is an active member of WACL (Women in Advertising & Communication Leadership).
