Matt is fortunate enough to lead research and planning at Thinkbox, which sits at the heart of Thinkbox's mission to help agencies and advertisers get the best out of today's TV. Matt leads the team that produces Thinkbox's 'TV Masters' training programme, a course that has been completed by over 5,000 professionals so far. He's responsible for Thinkbox's research programme, including award-winning work such as 'Signalling Success' which unravelled the relative ability of different media environments to deliver implicit signals of brand strength; 'Demand Generation', which drew on Group M's econometric databank of £2.2Bn of media spend across 52 brands to uncover the principles of planning for effectiveness; and 'The TV Playbook for Online Businesses', a study to help DTC navigate the journey into TV advertising. In the last five years Thinkbox research has won 16 awards, including 5 Media Week Golds, 2 MRS awards and a Mediatel awards Grand Prix.

Prior to joining Thinkbox in 2015, Matt worked at Channel 5, heading their Planning and Insight team and representing the broadcaster at the Barb board. Prior to Channel 5 he had roles at Virgin Media and Attentional. In his spare time, he watches lots of telly (obvs) and plays a bit of (very bad) golf.
